Study Away Processes

J-Term Study Away Process
Study away with Trinity faculty during the winter break and earn a half credit. These programs are open to visiting students. Get started here.
Summer Study Away Process
Trinity offers faculty-led summer study away programs open to both Trinity and visiting students. Students can also choose from an exciting variety of external summer programs. Get started here.
Semester Program Petition Process
Students have the option to submit a petition if the list of Approved External Programs do not meet their needs.
IMPORTANT PASSPORT INFORMATION
ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A VALID PASSPORT TO TRAVEL ABROAD.
If you need a passport or need to renew your passport, we STRONGLY SUGGEST that you begin that process ASAP. We recommend that you have a valid passport in hand by the time you apply for your study away program. Passports must be valid for 6 months after your RETURN date. For example, if you study away program end in December your passport should be valid until the following June.
US CITIZENS: Passport application processing time is roughly 2 – 3 months. Visit the US Department of State website to begin the process now.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: If you need to renew your passport, we strongly encourage you to review your home countries’ renewal process/timelines and plan accordingly. Also, depending on your home country and immigration status in the US, you may need to renew your US Visa before you can study abroad.
